I have many happy memories of John over the years, he could be serious but more often than not, incredibly silly and funny too. I remember him doing an Eric Morecambe with his glasses, when, on occasion, Val had to have one of her words. He also introduced me to Adnams Broadside and I will always be grateful to him for that and will raise a glass to him, should I be lucky enough to find a pub down South that serves it. John and Val had an amazing love and devotion for each other, which one can only dream of, especially after nearly 60 years together. He also thought the world of his family and loved receiving frog spawn and slime bubble bath from his grand daughter Ellie for Christmas. When I think of John now, I remember his silly grin, still brings a smile to my face. He even liked one of King Kurt's songs and I often wonder what happened to the King Kurt t-shirt I bought him for Christmas in 1985! Aah, happy memories, John, you were much loved and will be missed. God bless you
